Verification on MozAppStore
Learn about verification badges, how to get verified, and what they mean for your product listings.
What Are Verification Badges?
Verification badges are visual indicators that help users trust the information on MozAppStore. They confirm that specific claims about a product have been verified by our team or through automated checks.
Owner Claimed
The product owner has claimed this listing and can manage its information. This badge indicates the listing is maintained by someone associated with the product.
Identity Verified
The owner's identity has been confirmed through official documentation or trusted third-party verification. This provides an extra layer of trust.
Live Verified
Our team has confirmed that the product is currently live and operational. Users can access and use the product right now. This badge may expire and require re-verification.
Pilot Verified
The product is in a pilot or testing phase with confirmed active users. This indicates early-stage availability with verified functionality.
How to Get Verified
Step 1: Claim Your Listing
Before you can get verified, you need to claim your product listing. Visit the claim page and follow the instructions.
π‘ Pro Tip: If your email domain matches your product's website (e.g., @example.com for example.com), your claim will be automatically approved and you'll receive the "Owner Claimed" badge instantly!
Step 2: Provide Verification Evidence
After claiming your listing, you can request additional verification badges by providing evidence. The type of evidence needed depends on the badge:
- βLive Verified: Provide working URLs, app store links, or video demonstrations showing the product in operation
- βPilot Verified: Show evidence of active users, testimonials, or usage statistics
- βIdentity Verified: Submit business registration documents or undergo third-party identity verification
Step 3: Admin Review
Our moderation team will review your evidence within 1-3 business days. We may reach out if we need additional information or clarification.
Once approved, the badge will appear on your product listing and will be visible to all users browsing the platform.
Verification Methods
We use several methods to verify product information. Different badges may require different types of verification:
π± App Store Verification
Link to your Google Play or Apple App Store listing. We verify the app exists and matches your description.
π Working URL Verification
Provide publicly accessible URLs where we can test and verify your product is operational.
π₯ Video Demo Verification
Submit a screen recording showing your product in use, including key features and functionality.
π₯ Reference Verification
Provide references from recognized organizations or partners who can confirm your product's legitimacy.
π Document Review
Submit official business registration, incorporation documents, or other legal paperwork.
βοΈ Domain Email Verification
Automatic verification when your email domain matches your product's official website.
Trust Policy
β οΈ Important: Status is Self-Declared Unless Verified
This is the core principle of MozAppStore: Unless a product has a verification badge, all status information (whether it's live, in development, etc.) is self-declared by the submitter and has not been independently verified.
- Unknown: Unclaimed listings where status hasn't been confirmed by anyone
- Reported by owner: Claimed listings where the owner declares the status, but it hasn't been verified
- Verified: Only products with active verification badges have confirmed status
Badge Expiration
Some badges (like Live Verified and Pilot Verified) expire after a certain period to ensure information stays current.
Product owners will be notified before expiration and can request re-verification to maintain their badges.
Badge Removal
Providing false information or attempting to game the verification system will result in immediate badge removal.
Repeated violations may lead to permanent account suspension.
